ACQUA is conceived for Madre de Dios, Peru, as part of a system of three hotels in the Amazon, and later developed as an independent concept, replicable in calm bodies of water. The central premise is to operate where conventional hospitality fails: in fragile environments, the hotel that anchors itself permanently tends to destroy exactly what it sells: landscape and social fabric.

Once the tree-support was ruled out, the problem was redefined with clarity. If the forest is not touched, the eco-lodge needs another foundation. The answer was water. The units float on the river; the bank stops being a construction platform and becomes a point of access and exploration. The floating, mobile condition is not a formal gesture: it eliminates foundations, reduces buried infrastructure, allows impact to be controlled, and makes it possible to move the hotel to rest areas without exhausting any single point of the territory.
